We at Cornabracken Childcare at Holy Family P.S are delighted to welcome you and your child to our childcare setting based in Omagh, County Tyrone. We provide professional, high quality and affordable childcare for children from 0 months up to 12 years, in a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment. We are renowned as a home from home nursery.

The staff and management team at ‘Cornabracken @ Holy Family P.S’ are delighted to welcome you and your child/children to our childcare setting. We aim to provide professional, high quality care for children from 0 years up to 12 years, in a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment. In this supportive environment your child will be able to learn through a wide and varied range of play-based activities and experiences suited to your child’s needs and interests, which will help them develop; progress, learn and achieve their full potential. Our enthusiastic, caring and highly trained staff will ensure that suitable toys and play materials are made available to your child at every opportunity; they will plan for and provide stimulating activities and play experiences to develop each child’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual development.

Cornabracken @ Holy Family Childcare opened in September 2012 and is continuing to grow and develop. The proprietor, Melanie O’ Kane, is highly qualified as a Teacher and has gained further knowledge and expertise in the child-care field through specialist courses. Angela Mc Guire, the full-time manager at Cornabracken and who deals with the day-to-day running of the setting, is also highly qualified and currently holds a BTEC National Diploma in Care; A Higher National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies and a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies as well as a NVQ Level 3 in Management as well as a range of other specialist courses. Our Deputy Manager, Paula Carlin has also achieved a Level 5 qualification via a Higher National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies. We are continually striving to further improve our knowledge and understanding, through in-house and outside courses and training programmes.

Registration Body

Cornabracken Childcare @ Holy Family P.S is fully insured and we are authorised by the Western Health and Social Care Trust. Our registration certificate is available to view in the entrance hall of the building. Annual inspections are carried out to ensure that standards are upheld and we follow the new Minimum Standards guidelines within the setting. The inspection role of the Health and Social Care Trust Team is to ensure that we are meeting these minimum standards of care (as set out in ‘The Minimum Standards for Day Care and Childminding for Children Under Age 12)’. These standards provide assurance of a consistent level of quality in the nursery setting. Our inspection report is available for parents to view at any time. We are also in regular contact and have regular visits from our Early Years advisor, Noeletta Smyth and Catherine Mc Taggart (Social work, support worker), to provide help, support and guidance to the staff team, and to observe practice within the nursery setting.

Insurance

Cornabracken Childcare @ Holy Family P.S is insured for Public/Products Liability and Employers Liability. A copy of the Insurance Certificate is displayed in the main entrance corridor.
